Sr. Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a reputable non-profit organization in San Diego, California. This is a contract position that requires someone with strong attention to detail to manage the general ledger, ensure accurate reporting, and support a smooth month-end close process. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring expertise in revenue recognition and accrual accounting.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring all journal entries are prepared, reviewed, and posted accurately.</p><p>• Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and tie general ledger activity to source documentation.</p><p>• Reconcile bank accounts, monitor discrepancies, and post necessary adjustments.</p><p>• Verify sales and revenue figures against supporting schedules and prepare related entries.</p><p>• Handle accounts payable activities and accruals, ensuring timely and accurate processing.</p><p>• Assist in preparing internal financial statements and maintain organized schedules using pre-built Excel templates.</p><p>• Support revenue recognition processes and event settlement accounting.</p><p>• Maintain prepaid expense and cash schedules to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.</p><p>• Ensure all journal entries are backed by proper source documentation.</p><p>• Contribute to year-end close tasks and ensure compliance with financial procedures.</p>
<p>• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and month-end close processes.</p><p>• Proficiency in revenue recognition and accrual accounting principles.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry preparation.</p><p>• Familiarity with accounting in event, venue, or commercial revenue environments is a plus.</p><p>• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with pre-built templates.</p><p>• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.</p><p>• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, revenue-driven environment. </p>
