Sr. Accountant
Job Summary: Senior Accountant assists the CFO, VP Finance and Accounting Manager with accounting and finance functions such as month end close and budgeting.<br><br>The role involves e-mail and telephone communications with the Company’s staff, including the Leadership Team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for month end close duties, including journal entries and account reconciliations. <br><br>Senior Accountants must possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of confidentiality and understand accounting processes.<br><br>Senior Accountants are self-motivated and able to work independently and without excess direction or supervision. They must also possess a strong attention to detail. Senior Accountants are deadline-driven and have the ability to work confidently and effectively within a high volume, fast-paced environment. <br><br>Essential Job Functions<br>• Oversee financial reporting processes, including preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.<br>• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.<br>• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.<br>• Coordinate external audits.<br>• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.<br>• Assist with financial planning and forecasting activities.<br>• Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and regulations.<br>• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on finance-related projects.<br>• Monitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funding through preparation of cash forecast.<br>• Complete month end closing, including review of financial statements, and preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.<br>• Communicate financial results and recommendations to management.<br>• Assist with NetSuite accounting software automation.<br><br> Knowledge and Abilities Requirements<br>• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.<br>• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.<br>• Experience with financial software and ERP systems preferred.<br>• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.<br>• Strategic financial planning and forecasting abilities.<br>• Leadership skills in guiding accounting teams and projects.<br>• Intermediate – advanced Microsoft Excel skills.<br>• detail oriented writing skills, i.e. ability to draft detail oriented e-mail communications.<br>• Strong attention to detail.<br>• Strong ability to multitask on a continuous basis.<br>• Strong organizational and time management skills.<br>• Proven problem-solving skills.<br><br>Non-requisite/Preferred Qualification <br><br>• Familiarity with journal entries.<br>• Understanding and ability to read primary financial statements, i.e. balance sheets, income statements, and statements of Cash Flows.<br>• Working knowledge of the processes and procedures associated with end-of-month/quarterly reconciliation and closing.
