We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client's team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for faculty, staff, and students. Your expertise will support various payroll functions, including compliance with regulations, resolving discrepancies, and providing exceptional service to campus constituents. Responsibilities:• Process regular payrolls ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.• Input and maintain employee data related to direct deposits, tax deductions, earnings, and miscellaneous adjustments.• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing and collecting relevant information.• Calculate and process garnishments while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.• Submit payroll files to the bank for direct deposit and positive pay transactions.• Manage payments to agencies and vendors for deductions, maintaining accurate records.• Print, prepare, and distribute checks as required.• Assist employees and supervisors by addressing timecard-related questions and resolving issues.• Reconcile and analyze timecards before integrating them into payroll systems.• Provide customer service to campus staff, answering payroll-related inquiries and offering guidance based on policies.

• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing with multi-state payroll expertise. • Familiarity with processing payroll for organizations with over 500 employees. • Proficiency in payroll systems such as Workday and Banner. • Strong analytical skills to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies. • Knowledge of garnishment calculations and compliance regulations. • Ability to manage timecards, including reconciliation and communication with employees. • Excellent customer service skills to address inquiries and provide payroll-related assistance. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all payroll processes.
