Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team in Saint Louis, Missouri, on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes efficiently, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process payroll accurately and on time, adhering to relevant tax laws and union contract requirements.<br>• Input and maintain payroll data, including job cost schedules, exemptions, deductions, and pay rates.<br>• Review and update payroll records to reflect changes in employee status, such as job transfers or department updates.<br>• Manage payroll documentation for new employees, ensuring proper setup of earnings, deductions, and benefits.<br>• Generate reports detailing hours worked, wages, taxes, deductions, and other payroll-related information.<br>• Prepare and submit union benefit reports, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements.<br>• Address employee inquiries regarding payroll and resolve discrepancies promptly.<br>• Audit and process off-cycle payroll corrections, including final paychecks, in alignment with company policies.<br>• Verify payroll liabilities, including taxes and contributions, to ensure accuracy.<br>• Stay informed on payroll regulations and recommend updates to policies and procedures as needed.
• Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll processes.<br>• Expertise in handling payroll for over 500 employees.<br>• Familiarity with payroll systems, including Paycor.<br>• Knowledge of payroll processing for unionized environments.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to use pivot tables effectively.<br>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee information.<br>• Excellent communication skills to address payroll-related inquiries and concerns.
