Staff Accountant
We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations and ensuring compliance with corporate tax requirements. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and accounting expertise are essential.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.<br>• Handle sales tax filings and reporting requirements in a timely manner.<br>• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.<br>• Manage and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.<br>• Conduct detailed financial analyses to support business decision-making processes.<br>• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to meet compliance standards.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting-related queries and issues.<br>• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.<br>• Maintain thorough documentation of accounting procedures and policies for reference and training purposes.
• Proven experience in preparing corporate tax returns and managing tax-related processes.<br>• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance requirements.<br>• Proficiency in recording journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records.<br>• Expertise in managing and reconciling general ledger accounts.<br>• Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.<br>• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.<br>• Excellent organizational and communication skills.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
