Accounting Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Monterey, California. In this role, you will handle a variety of financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software. This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with leadership while contributing to the smooth operation of financial processes.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end financial close.<br>• Perform accurate bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.<br>• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to maintain financial records and streamline accounting operations.<br>• Prepare and file sales tax returns while ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.<br>• Collaborate with General Managers and CFOs to provide detailed financial reports and support decision-making processes.<br>• Maintain organized documentation of financial transactions and ensure records are accessible for auditing purposes.<br>• Assist in coordinating administrative tasks and managing office operations as needed.<br>• Review and code invoices to ensure accuracy and proper allocation.<br>• Support nonprofit accounting requirements by adhering to specific compliance standards.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.<br>• Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and performing bank reconciliations.<br>• Skilled in using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage.<br>• Strong understanding of tax compliance and ability to prepare sales tax returns.<br>• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle administrative responsibilities.<br>• Effective communication skills for collaboration with leadership and team members.<br>• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.<br>• Ability to code invoices and ensure proper allocation of expenses.
