Sr. Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant for a <strong><em>1 year</em></strong> contract opportunity. In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, supervising team members, and providing accounting support to various departments. This role requires a strong understanding of financial analysis, reconciliation, and leadership capabilities.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Supervise and analyze weekly and monthly financial data to ensure accurate reporting of gross margin, income, and expenses.</p><p>• Manage the reconciliation and financial processing of inventory systems and rebate modules to ensure precise reporting of rebate funds.</p><p>• Oversee monthly cost of goods sold (COGS) processes and balance center store inventory between systems, booking necessary journal entries.</p><p>• Lead weekly reviews of income and expenses, providing summaries to senior management.</p><p>• Address profit and loss (P& L) inquiries from store, district, and regional leaders.</p><p>• Provide accounting expertise and support to operations, merchandising, and management teams, serving as a resource for projects and financial issues.</p><p>• Supervise two team members by delegating tasks, reviewing their work, and facilitating their growth and development.</p><p>• Encourage process improvements by challenging team members to identify efficiencies in their workflows.</p><p>• Prepare and analyze asset and liability accounts to ensure compliance with financial requirements.</p><p>• Assist with quarterly and annual audits by preparing schedules and interpreting financial data.</p>
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including month-end close processes.<br>• Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.<br>• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and cost of goods sold (COGS) processes.<br>• Experience working with Oracle financial systems.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.<br>• Ability to manage and mentor team members effectively.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.<br>• Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and departments.
