Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Lynnwood, Washington. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial records, performing reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting data. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a dynamic environment within the education sector.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.<br>• Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Conduct periodic account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze financial data and support reporting activities.<br>• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports.<br>• Assist with ad hoc financial projects as needed, providing timely and accurate deliverables.<br>• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.<br>• Ensure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations in accounting operations.<br>• Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records for audit and review purposes.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting and financial reporting.<br>• Strong proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.<br>• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and data analysis tools.<br>• Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.<br>• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
