We are looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to lead the accounting and financial operations of our NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION located in Los Angeles, California. This role is integral to ensuring the institution's financial integrity, overseeing compliance with regulations, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will manage a small team and collaborate across departments, supporting key institutional events and providing strategic financial insights. Responsibilities:• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions in alignment with GAAP and regulatory standards.• Develop and implement processes to enhance departmental efficiency and reduce redundancies.• Establish and regularly evaluate robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including financial statements, budget comparisons, and compliance documents, ensuring timely communication to stakeholders.• Support senior leadership in the annual budgeting process, reviewing financial plans and comparing them to actual results.• Provide real-time financial analysis and strategic recommendations to aid decision-making.• Ensure compliance with institutional policies, local, state, and federal laws, and current accounting practices.• Manage the accounting for restricted funds such as grants, endowments, and other program funds.• Oversee financial activities related to grants, ensuring alignment with budgets throughout the grant periods.• Collaborate with various departments and provide financial support during audits, board meetings, and accreditation visits.

• Proven expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.• Strong background in preparing and analyzing financial statements and trial balances.• Familiarity with financial audits, including DCAA compliance.• Solid experience in financial reporting and analysis.• Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices.• Higher ed industry experience a huge plus• Ability to oversee and manage restricted funds accounting, including grants and endowments.• Proficiency in developing and maintaining internal controls.• Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate across departments.
