Accountant - reconciliations
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in reconciliations to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Johnston, Iowa, and involves supporting critical accounting functions, including reconciliation processes across various financial accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reconciliation.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform comprehensive reconciliations for bank accounts, expenses, and other financial records.<br>• Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.<br>• Maintain and analyze the general ledger to ensure proper financial reporting.<br>• Investigate discrepancies in financial records and resolve reconciliation issues.<br>• Prepare detailed reports on reconciliation findings and suggest improvements.<br>• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and documentation.<br>• Support daily reconciliation tasks to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.<br>• Assist in maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations.<br>• Contribute to improving efficiency in reconciliation processes and workflows.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on reconciliations.<br>• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial reconciliation processes, including bank and expense reconciliations.<br>• Ability to create and analyze journal entries with a high level of accuracy.<br>• Experience working with financial systems and tools.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.<br>• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.<br>• Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations.
