Medical Collections Lead
We are looking for a skilled Medical Collections Lead to join our team in Irvine, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will oversee critical aspects of accounts receivable management and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves handling a wide range of medical billing and collections processes while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts receivable processes, including payment follow-ups, addressing low reimbursements, and resolving claim denials.<br>• Analyze insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and initiate appeals for discrepancies or denied claims.<br>• Maintain detailed documentation of issues, actions taken, and follow-ups within patient accounts.<br>• Prepare and distribute necessary documentation through printing and mailing as required.<br>• Ensure all communications and records are meticulously documented for accuracy and accountability.<br>• Stay informed on commercial and managed care pricing structures, rules, and compliance regulations.<br>• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and support the company’s compliance program.<br>• Handle sensitive patient information with strict confidentiality and in compliance with applicable laws.<br>• Participate in required training sessions and report any compliance-related concerns or incidents to management.<br>• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
• Proficiency in medical collections processes, including billing functions and claim administration.<br>• Familiarity with software systems such as Epic, EHR systems, IBM AS/400, and Accurint.<br>• Experience with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) for managing data workflows.<br>• Strong knowledge of appeals processes and handling denials effectively.<br>• Ability to manage detailed documentation and maintain organized records.<br>• Understanding of confidentiality requirements and compliance regulations in the healthcare sector.<br>• Excellent communication skills to interact with insurance providers and internal teams.<br>• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
