Medical Collections Lead
We are looking for an experienced Medical Collections Lead to join our team in Irvine, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, focusing on accounts receivable management and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in medical collections and a strong ability to handle patient accounts with precision and confidentiality.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts receivable by proactively following up on payment discrepancies, denials, and low reimbursements.<br>• Analyze insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and initiate appeals to address payment issues effectively.<br>• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient account activities, including problems, actions taken, and follow-ups.<br>• Prepare and distribute necessary documentation through printing and mailing processes.<br>• Ensure compliance with commercial and managed care pricing models, rules, and regulations.<br>• Support organizational compliance programs by adhering to policies and procedures relevant to healthcare laws.<br>• Handle patient information with confidentiality and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.<br>• Participate in required training sessions and report any compliance concerns or incidents to management.<br>• Collaborate with supervisors and management to execute additional tasks as assigned.<br>• Stay informed about healthcare billing and collection procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in medical collections processes, including appeals and claim administration.<br>• Familiarity with systems such as Accurint, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), Epic Software, EHR systems, and IBM AS/400.<br>• Strong knowledge of billing functions and healthcare collection practices.<br>• Experience with insurance claims and reimbursement processes.<br>• Ability to handle patient accounts with high attention to detail and confidentiality.<br>• Excellent documentation and communication skills.<br>• Knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and confidentiality obligations.<br>• Capacity to adapt to organizational procedures and support team goals.
