Medical Collections Lead
We are looking for an experienced Medical Collections Lead to join our team in Irvine, California. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will manage accounts receivable processes, ensure compliance with regulations, and maintain accurate documentation related to patient accounts. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and expertise in medical collections systems and procedures.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts receivable tasks, including payment discrepancies, low reimbursements, and denied claims.<br>• Analyze insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and initiate appeals to resolve payment issues.<br>• Record detailed documentation of account issues, actions taken, and follow-up steps.<br>• Prepare and distribute necessary documentation through printing and mailing processes.<br>• Maintain accurate records of communications and actions for each patient account.<br>• Stay informed about commercial and managed care pricing models, regulations, and compliance requirements.<br>• Ensure confidentiality and compliance in handling patient information, adhering to organizational policies and applicable laws.<br>• Participate in required training sessions and report any compliance concerns to management.<br>• Perform additional tasks as requested by supervisors or management to support departmental needs.
• Proficiency in medical collections software such as Epic, IBM AS/400, and EHR systems.<br>• Experience with appeals, billing functions, and claim administration processes.<br>• Strong understanding of collection procedures and payment reconciliation.<br>• Familiarity with tools like Accurint and Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).<br>• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing patient accounts.<br>• Knowledge of compliance standards and confidentiality requirements in healthcare.<br>• Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance providers and team members.<br>• Ability to adapt to new systems and processes as required by the role.
