We are looking for a skilled Attorney to join our boutique litigation firm in Houston, Texas. Our practice focuses on personal injury, commercial litigation, and select mass actions, offering a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. This is a permanent position that combines autonomy with mentorship in a collaborative atmosphere, providing opportunities for growth and development.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage a diverse personal injury docket, ranging from minor to catastrophic cases, including medical malpractice and mass action matters.<br>• Conduct legal research and draft high-quality pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs.<br>• Prepare for and lead depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials, including first-chair trial responsibilities within six months.<br>• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to represent the firm in a detail-oriented manner.<br>• Handle client intake and provide strategic guidance on case management.<br>• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in both pre-trial and trial settings.<br>• Review and analyze legal correspondence, motions, and responses to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Collaborate with team members to support cases on other attorneys’ dockets when needed.<br>• Travel as necessary for depositions, hearings, and trials, including out-of-state travel.<br>• Present weekly docket updates and maintain organized records of case progress.

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas; admission to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas preferred.<br>• Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil litigation, with substantial exposure to personal injury cases.<br>• Proficiency in Texas and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, as well as motion practice and discovery processes.<br>• Trial experience preferred, with confidence in conducting depositions and mediations.<br>• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively in court and interact with clients.<br>• Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing confidential legal documentation and meeting deadlines.<br>• Self-motivated and team-oriented, with a positive attitude and ability to work under pressure.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with client intake software preferred but not required.
