<p>A client in EaDo, Downtown Houston has partnered with Robert Half for a contract Accounting position focused on accounts payable. This opportunity does have the potential to become permanent. The role is 100% onsite Monday - Friday. The pay is between $25-$228 hourly depending on experience level and software knowledge. </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Organize and upload invoices and obtain appropriate operational approvals.</li><li>Code invoices in compliance with budgets using accounting software workflows.</li><li>Set up new vendors in accounting software and ensure proper documentation is completed.</li><li>Interact with vendors and suppliers to collect W-9 forms prior to payment and maintain W-9 records.</li><li>Create accounts payable vouchers and process vendor checks.</li><li>Regularly monitor and track all daily credit card purchases.</li><li>Collect mileage and expense reports, verify appropriate authorizations, and process accordingly.</li><li>Assist in the preparation and processing of year-end 1099 forms.</li><li>Support finance and accounting leadership with special projects as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate and organized accounting files.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong>:</p><ul><li>Minimum: High School Diploma required.</li><li>Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.</li></ul><p><strong>Experience & Skills</strong>:</p><ul><li>At least one year of relevant accounting experience is required.</li><li>Proficiency in accounts payable processing.</li><li>Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.</li><li>High level of proficiency with financial database management and reporting systems such as Blackbaud Financial Edge and RealPage OneSite is valued.</li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing written reports and financial documents.</li><li>Prior experience with real estate management and development companies is beneficial.</li></ul><p><strong>Key Attributes</strong>:</p><ul><li>Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, coupled with strong written and verbal communication abilities.</li><li>Proficiency in time management, working independently, and adapting to rapidly changing priorities.</li><li>Problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and the ability to address challenges diplomatically.</li><li>Team-oriented with a positive, proactive, service-oriented attitude.</li></ul><p><br></p>
