We are looking for a dedicated Part-Time Accounting Specialist to join our team in Hastings, Minnesota. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to vital financial processes within a small and collaborative department. The role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach to managing accounting tasks effectively. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Handle daily cash receipts and perform cash reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. • Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Prepare monthly sales tax reports and ensure compliance with tax regulations. • Maintain accurate records of fixed assets and oversee related reporting. • Process credit applications and references while adhering to company policies. • Ensure all receipts are accurately documented and filed for financial tracking. • Utilize accounting software to manage purchase orders and payable transactions. • Generate sales reporting and other financial analyses using Excel. • Assist in preparing month-end closing activities and related documentation.

• At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field. • Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions. • Strong knowledge of account reconciliation and cash management processes. • Familiarity with monthly sales tax reporting and compliance. • Experience with fixed asset tracking and reporting. • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis. • Ability to work independently in a small team environment. • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
