Property Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Property Accountant to join our team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial operations for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficient financial management of real estate assets while working in a dynamic industry. This is an onsite position, free parking is provided. Hours of operation are Monday- Friday 9am-2pm. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.</p><p>• Handle the coding of accounts payable invoices and maintain strong relationships with vendors.</p><p>• Manage daily cash flow operations, including vendor support and communication with property owners.</p><p>• Generate monthly financial statements and conduct variance analyses to track performance against budgets.</p><p>• Coordinate maintenance requests and facilitate effective communication between tenants and vendors.</p><p>• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and conduct monthly reviews of actuals versus projections.</p><p>• Support rent collection processes, including invoicing and tracking tenant payments.</p><p>• Maintain and update tenant records and lease documentation to ensure data accuracy and completeness.</p>
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property management or real estate accounting operations.<br>• Proficiency in using Yardi Breeze software for property and financial management.<br>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.<br>• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with tenants, vendors, and property owners.<br>• Familiarity with residential and commercial lease structures, including their financial implications.<br>• Expertise in accrual accounting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.<br>• Demonstrated experience in accounting for both residential and commercial real estate portfolios.
