We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. This long-term contract position involves managing payroll processes for a growing organization with employees across multiple states. The ideal candidate will have expertise in payroll operations, benefit deductions, and accounting practices, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities: • Process full-cycle payroll for over 120 salaried employees and a small number of hourly employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Handle multi-state payroll operations across 20 states, ensuring compliance with varying state laws. • Manage payroll-related tasks such as 401k plans, stock option income, Employee Stock Option Purchase Plans, Restricted Stock Units, and insurance benefit deductions. • Administer wage garnishments and other special payroll deductions as required. • Prepare and reconcile general ledger payroll accounts, including journal entries and accrued paid time off. • Support vendor onboarding by maintaining vendor records in NetSuite and distributing DocuSign forms. • Generate payroll journal entries and detailed reports, including bonus accruals and other adjustments. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth payroll operations and resolve discrepancies. • Utilize ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems to manage bi-monthly payroll efficiently. • Provide expertise in payroll compliance and reporting for audit and regulatory purposes.

• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing for organizations with 100+ employees. • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll operations and compliance. • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now and NetSuite. • Experience with payroll-related accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliations and journal entries. • Understanding of stock options, employee stock purchase plans, and restricted stock units. • Proficiency in handling benefits deductions, garnishments, and special payroll adjustments. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ability to manage vendor records and onboarding processes effectively.
