We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accounting Consultant to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract role, you will leverage your expertise in general ledger accounting and financial processes to support the preparation of audit-ready financial statements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in consumer goods accounting, inventory management, and trade discounts, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations. Responsibilities: • Conduct a thorough review of aged financial transactions and historical accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Manage the complete month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. • Oversee the accounting for inventory and purchase orders specific to consumer goods operations. • Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet accounts, ensuring proper classification and documentation. • Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise and Bill.com to streamline accounting workflows and ensure proper transaction tracking. • Develop and implement processes to account for trade discounts and sales accruals effectively. • Collaborate with internal teams to address urgent inquiries and meet critical deadlines. • Provide expertise in preparing robust financial statements that are audit-ready and align with industry standards. • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to maintain the integrity of the accounting system. • Support financial audits by providing detailed documentation and analysis as required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, with a strong ability to manage the entire close process. • Proven expertise in handling historical financial transactions and building audit-ready financial statements. • Solid knowledge of inventory accounting and manufacturing industry practices. • Experience with trade discounts, sales accruals, and consumer goods accounting. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and familiarity with Bill.com. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliation. • Ability to work part-time with flexibility during critical deadlines and respond promptly to urgent inquiries. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams.
