We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on various aspects of accounting, including reconciliations, financial consolidations, and process improvements. Responsibilities:• Perform general ledger close and financial consolidation tasks, including monitoring sales margins, processing sales taxes, and closing financial statements on a monthly basis.• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, making recommendations on the accounting treatment of reserves, assets, and expenditures.• Conduct special projects such as reconciling and reporting on key financial areas, including fixed assets, inventory management, cash management, and intercompany accounts.• Prepare cost analyses, manage warranty accounting, and assist in the preparation of external audit materials and financial reports.• Support the development of forecasts and budgets while reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy.• Research and propose process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting principles and organizational policies.• Assist in other duties as assigned to support the accounting team and organizational goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience. • A minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, including tasks such as journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software. • Strong knowledge of GAAP and the ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. • Strong analytical skills, with experience in account reconciliation and variance analysis. • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy. • Experience in audit preparation and working knowledge of sales tax processes is a plus.
