Our client is eager to add a Senior Staff Accountant to their growing team. As a Senior Staff Accountant, your day-to-day tasks will include monthly journal entries (including accruals), reconciling accounts, bank reconciliations, daily cash reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. While the role is based in Baton Rouge, LA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Prepares and processes monthly journal entries, including accruals• Reconciles daily A/R activity to cash deposits• Processes bank reconciliations• Processes monthly and quarterly loss and loss adjustment expenses journal entries• Prepares state premium tax returns• Reviews and updates fixed asset depreciation schedules• Assists with monthly closing processes• Assists with NAIC quarterly and annual financial statements• Assists with external audits• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications/ Education:• General ledger processes and maintenance experience• Excellent communication skills• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and experience using accounting software• Must be able to handle multiple tasks, take initiative and work independently• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred• 2+ years of experience in accounting field
