We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This contract position is ideal for an experienced accounting specialist eager to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic hospitality organization. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, payroll management, and compliance with tax regulations.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Perform detailed reviews of billing for payrolls to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.<br>• Prepare and complete payroll tax forms, including Form 990, while adhering to compliance standards.<br>• Support month-end fiscal closing processes by managing journal entries and reconciling accounts.<br>• Conduct thorough reconciliations of financial records, including bank statements and general ledger accounts.<br>• Verify the accuracy of billing on contracts and identify any inconsistencies.<br>• Manage general ledger activities to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.<br>• Collaborate with the team to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.<br>• Provide reliable financial information and reports to support organizational decision-making.

• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related field with a strong attention to detail.<br>• Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.<br>• Expertise in preparing payroll tax returns, including Form 990.<br>• Strong knowledge of month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.<br>• Experience with billing functions and ensuring contract accuracy.<br>• Adept at bank reconciliations and resolving financial discrepancies.<br>• Attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Familiarity with hospitality industry accounting practices is preferred.
