Help Desk Technician
<p><strong>Robert Half </strong>is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a <strong>Help Desk Technician (contract). </strong>In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure smooth business operations. <strong>This is an on-site role in Austin.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Respond to user inquiries via phone, email, or ticketing system regarding hardware, software, and network issues.</li><li>Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to appropriate teams when necessary.</li><li>Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions using the help desk ticketing system.</li><li>Provide onboarding technical support for new employees, including account setup and equipment provisioning.</li><li>Assist in maintaining IT documentation and knowledge base articles.</li><li>Collaborate with other IT team members to improve support processes and user experience</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li><li>1 or more years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.</li><li>Extensive knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.</li><li>Familiarity with Active Directory, remote desktop tools, and basic networking concepts.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with ITIL practices or help desk certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, HDI).</li><li>Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).</li><li>Experience supporting mobile devices (iOS, Android) and remote users.</li></ul><p><strong>Contract Benefit Offerings: </strong></p><ul><li>Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans)</li><li>401(k) and retirement plans</li><li>Commuter benefits</li><li>Employee and vendor discounts</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>And many more!</li></ul><p><br></p>
