We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in the York, Maine area. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with strong financial and organizational skills. The role offers an opportunity to manage critical accounting functions and contribute to the overall financial health of the company. Responsibilities:• Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing financial statements and reconciliations.• Generate ad hoc financial reports to support decision-making and strategic planning.• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.• Manage budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances to ensure alignment with financial objectives.• Handle monthly sales tax filings and ensure compliance with state regulations.• Collaborate with internal teams to compile and organize financial documents for audits and reviews.• Implement and maintain document control systems, ensuring efficient management and retrieval of scanned documents.• Monitor and improve processes related to document scanning and organization.• Provide guidance to the accounting team to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to deadlines.

• Proven experience in general ledger management and accounting processes. • Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end closings, including financial statement preparation. • Proficiency in creating ad hoc reports and conducting financial analysis. • Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and compliance. • Experience in budget management and variance analysis. • Familiarity with monthly sales tax filings and regulatory requirements. • Skilled in document control and organizing scanned financial records. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage accounting teams effectively.
