SR Property Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our team in San Rafael, California. This is a long-term contract position within the non-profit industry, offering the opportunity to contribute to financial operations and property management processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property accounting and demonstrate strong analytical skills to support organizational goals.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank accounts for assigned properties.<br>• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and reports in compliance with organizational policies and deadlines.<br>• Process journal entries and ensure proper posting to financial records.<br>• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including assets, liabilities, income, and expenses, while addressing discrepancies.<br>• Collaborate with auditors during audits, prepare necessary documentation, and assist with tax returns and final audit reports.<br>• Participate in the budgeting process by attending meetings and providing financial insights for portfolio properties.<br>• Recommend adjustments to expense and revenue forecasts based on financial analysis and site manager feedback.<br>• Research, track, and resolve general ledger discrepancies, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.<br>• Manage replacement reserve requests and approvals, ensuring accurate database updates.<br>• Review monthly financials for other properties within the organization as needed.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a related field.<br>• Proficiency in Yardi software and other accounting tools.<br>• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end close processes.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in general ledger management and reconciliation.<br>• Ability to work under deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to gather and interpret financial data.<br>• Proven ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while maintaining ethical standards.
