We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Rockville, Maryland. This contract position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial processes, reconciliations, and accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, in-office environment and bring their expertise to ensure seamless and accurate financial operations. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices with proper account coding to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Maintain and update records in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms. • Manage accounts payable workflow, including accrual accounting and reconciliation tasks. • Perform audits of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies effectively. • Handle automated clearing house (ACH) payments and monitor electronic payment processes. • Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency in accounting functions. • Utilize tools such as ADP and Concur for financial data management and reporting. • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. • Prepare periodic reports on accounts payable activities for management review. • Investigate and address vendor inquiries related to payment issues.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial roles. • Proficiency in accounting software systems and ERP platforms. • Familiarity with accrual accounting and auditing processes. • Strong understanding of automated clearing house (ACH) operations. • Experience with tools such as ADP and Concur is highly preferred. • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Solid interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with vendors and internal teams. • Knowledge of financial compliance and regulations.
