We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial goals. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and brings a detail-oriented approach to complex financial tasks.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee fixed asset management and ensure accurate financial reporting.<br>• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including footnotes and detailed reports.<br>• Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate closings.<br>• Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure proper reconciliation of accounts.<br>• Handle journal entries and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards.<br>• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support capital budgeting and financial planning.<br>• Utilize Workday Financial Management and Ariba procurement systems to streamline processes.<br>• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting operations.<br>• Ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and organizational policies.

<p>• 7+ years of accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and reporting.</p><p>• Proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and US GAAP standards.</p><p>• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes.</p><p>• Familiarity with financial systems such as Workday Financial Management and Ariba.</p><p>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.</p><p>• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.</p><p>• Effective communication skills for collaboration across all levels of the organization.</p>
