Sr. Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reconciliation and accounting practices, particularly within the non-profit sector. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project while working in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Perform comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.</p><p>• Manage month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements.</p><p>• Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.</p><p>• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.</p><p>• Analyze and reconcile the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy.</p><p>• Assist in forensic accounting tasks related to fund reconciliation projects.</p><p>• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.</p><p>• Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting processes and workflows.</p><p>• Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational financial standards.</p>
• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and account reconciliation.<br>• Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries.<br>• Expertise in bank reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.<br>• Solid understanding of forensic accounting principles.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.<br>• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.<br>• Familiarity with accounting practices in the non-profit sector is a plus.
