We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reconciliation and accounting practices, particularly within the non-profit sector. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project while working in a collaborative and detail-oriented environment. Responsibilities:• Perform comprehensive account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.• Manage month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements.• Create and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.• Analyze and reconcile the general ledger to ensure consistency and accuracy.• Assist in forensic accounting tasks related to fund reconciliation projects.• Prepare detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.• Collaborate with team members to optimize accounting processes and workflows.• Ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational financial standards.

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and account reconciliation. • Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries. • Expertise in bank reconciliation and resolving discrepancies. • Solid understanding of forensic accounting principles. • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Familiarity with accounting practices in the non-profit sector is a plus.
