Staff Accountant
<p>Robert Half is seeking a Lease Accountant for a contract to permanent position. This role supports month-end and year-end closing, ensures compliance with ASC 842 and SOX requirements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate reporting and financial insights.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>-Manage the accounting lifecycle of lease agreements, including new leases, renewals, modifications, and terminations.</p><p>-Record lease transactions accurately and consistently in compliance with internal policies.</p><p>-Prepare and maintain lease amortization schedules to ensure proper recognition of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.</p><p>-Perform reconciliations of lease-related accounts, ensuring alignment between lease accounting systems and the general ledger.</p><p>-Create and post journal entries for lease activity as part of the month-end close process.</p><p>-Support cash flow reporting by analyzing balance sheet movements related to lease obligations.</p><p>-Review and analyze monthly lease expenses, comparing actuals to budgets and forecasts, and provide variance explanations.</p><p>-Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial disclosures related to leases under ASC 842.</p><p>-Maintain supporting documentation for audits, SOX compliance, and internal controls.</p><p>-Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements within the lease accounting function.</p>
<p>-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</p><p>-2–4 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year focused on lease accounting or fixed assets.</p><p>-Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and lease accounting standards (ASC 842).</p><p>-Experience with ERP and lease management systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or CoStar).</p><p>-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for financial analysis.</p><p>-Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control environments.</p>
