Staff Accountant
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will play a key part in managing essential accounting functions, vendor payments, and financial reporting for multiple entities. This position is ideal for a candidate with expertise in commercial real estate accounting and strong analytical skills, who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts payable operations, including processing invoices, reconciling corporate credit cards, and handling reimbursements.<br>• Prepare weekly multi-entity check runs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial controls.<br>• Set up and maintain vendor records and documentation in accordance with accounting standards.<br>• Oversee bank positive pay processes and address daily exceptions.<br>• Record payments, make weekly bank deposits, and assist with tax payments and reporting deadlines.<br>• Generate and distribute Form 1099s for vendors and support year-end audit preparation.<br>• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, payments, and accounting processes.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance accuracy and timeliness in financial operations.<br>• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.<br>• Assist with special projects and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
• Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger management, and intercompany accounting.<br>• Experience with bank deposits, vendor payments, and positive pay systems.<br>• Strong knowledge of Form 1099 preparation and third-party billing processes.<br>• Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to analyze large sets of financial data.<br>• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.<br>• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high-volume transactions effectively.<br>• Familiarity with credit card reconciliations and multi-entity accounting practices.<br>• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
