<p>Kevin Wong with Robert Half is looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for our organization in Portland, Oregon. This role ensures the accuracy of accounting processes, timely reporting, and adherence to internal controls, while supporting leadership with valuable financial insights. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing financial systems and collaborating across teams to achieve organizational goals.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Oversee the complete accounting cycle by coordinating with contracted bookkeeping and controller services.</p><p>• Manage the month-end close process to produce accurate and timely financial statements.</p><p>• Prepare monthly financial reports, including activity statements, financial position summaries, and budget-to-actual comparisons.</p><p>• Ensure proper revenue recognition and classification across diverse income streams.</p><p>• Support annual audit preparation by reconciling accounts, organizing documentation, and liaising with external auditors.</p><p>• Monitor compliance with internal financial policies and established controls.</p><p>• Provide detailed financial analyses and variance reports to assist in budget management.</p><p>• Supervise external financial service providers to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.</p><p>• Collaborate with leadership on financial planning and reporting, ensuring clarity and reliability.</p><p>• Support enrollment and outreach efforts by processing tuition assistance and special financial circumstances.</p><p><br></p><p>Please reach out to Kevin Wong with Robert Half to review this position. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.<br>• At least 5 years of experience in accounting or business management, with a preference for nonprofit or educational environments.<br>• Ability to pass required background checks, including criminal and misconduct screenings.<br>• Proficiency in office software such as Google Workspace; experience with financial tools like QuickBooks and Bill.com is preferred.<br>• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes, general ledger management, and financial audits.<br>• Expertise in account reconciliation and journal entry workflows.<br>• Excellent communication skills to convey financial information in a clear and precise manner.<br>• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers.
