Staff Accountant
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Staff Accountant to join our team in Port Clinton, Ohio. In this role, you will contribute to the financial integrity of our organization by maintaining accurate records, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment that values innovation and accountability.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain and update general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Reconcile financial accounts, including bank statements and balance sheets, while investigating and resolving discrepancies.<br>• Prepare financial statements such as income statements and balance sheets, and assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.<br>• Monitor company expenses, support budget preparation, and assist with forecasting.<br>• Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation, providing detailed cycle count analysis and ensuring accurate valuation.<br>• Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and offer financial insights for ad-hoc projects.<br>• Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals to support financial operations.<br>• Assist with special financial projects and system improvements as needed.<br>• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in all financial processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.<br>• One to three years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.<br>• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).<br>• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.<br>• Experience with ERP systems, such as Syteline, is preferred.<br>• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
