We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Palo Alto, California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key financial functions, including accrual management, reconciliations, and financial analysis, while collaborating closely with leaders across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and bring a strong analytical mindset along with exceptional communication skills.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and manage accrual journal entries and account reconciliations for clinical trials, research and development activities, and general administrative purchase orders.<br>• Conduct financial forecasting, estimation, and trend analysis to deliver insights into organizational performance.<br>• Perform variance and flux analysis to ensure accuracy during month-end and quarter-end close processes.<br>• Collaborate with Directors and department leaders across multiple teams to provide accurate and timely financial data.<br>• Support the month-end close process to meet tight deadlines and ensure compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the implementation of best practices within accounting operations.<br>• Assist with special projects, ad hoc tasks, and coverage during team member absences.<br>• Utilize financial systems such as Oracle and Blackline to streamline accounting activities and ensure data accuracy.<br>• Provide detailed reporting and analysis to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in managing accruals; clinical trial accruals experience is highly preferred.<br>• Proficiency in Oracle systems, with Fusion experience being a plus; familiarity with Blackline and Gappify is advantageous.<br>• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling, and complex formulas.<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Directors and senior leadership.<br>• Proven ability to analyze data, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.<br>• Experience in general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations is essential.<br>• Positive team player with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
