We are looking for an experienced VP/Director of Finance to oversee the financial operations of a dynamic educational institution in Norwell, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position requires a strategic leader who can manage fiscal planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure maximum educational value. The role also involves supervising various departments, including transportation, food services, and facilities, while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities:• Lead long-term financial planning and budgeting processes to align fiscal strategies with the institution’s educational goals.• Develop and implement budget documents while ensuring their effective execution.• Manage procurement activities, including equipment and supply purchases, while considering educational impacts.• Oversee the transportation department to ensure safe and cost-effective student transportation.• Supervise facility operations and maintenance to maintain safe, comfortable, and functional spaces for learning.• Collaborate with building commissions on construction projects and renovations for school facilities.• Establish and maintain accurate accounting systems to provide financial data for decision-making.• Direct food service operations to deliver nutritious menus and efficient meal programs.• Partner with the Department of Public Works to ensure proper maintenance of school grounds.• Participate in negotiations with employee bargaining groups as a representative of the School Committee.

• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and resource management. • Strong background in managing procurement and supply chains. • Expertise in transportation and facilities management within an educational setting. • Familiarity with accounting systems and financial reporting processes. • Ability to supervise and evaluate personnel effectively. • Knowledge of state and federal reporting requirements. • Experience in negotiating labor contracts and managing employee relations. • Preferred experience with programs or equivalent.
