We are looking for a Senior Accountant with expertise in SEC reporting to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Newton, Massachusetts, and offers the opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions while collaborating with a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and prior public company experience to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.<br>• Draft and analyze technical accounting memos and whitepapers to address complex financial reporting issues.<br>• Utilize NetSuite and ActiveDisclosure software to manage reporting processes effectively.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to implement and streamline accounting procedures.<br>• Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all financial reporting processes.<br>• Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries.<br>• Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues.<br>• Partner with the Controller to enhance reporting practices and maintain timely submissions.<br>• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial controls and processes.<br>• Stay updated on changes in SEC regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance.

• Experience working in Big 4 Public Accounting or equivalent firms.<br>• Proven track record in public company accounting and SEC reporting.<br>• Proficiency in drafting technical accounting memos and whitepapers.<br>• Familiarity with NetSuite and ActiveDisclosure software.<br>• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.<br>• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.<br>• Effective communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
