We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Newport, Rhode Island. This is a long-term contract opportunity for an individual who excels in financial operations and accounting practices. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing accounts, tracking revenue, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities: • Process and monitor accounts payable transactions to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Reconcile credit card accounts and bring them up to date, addressing a backlog of previous transactions. • Collaborate on payroll system updates and assist with transitioning processes effectively. • Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and monitor revenue streams. • Support the year-end closing process by preparing and analyzing financial data. • Track earned revenue and ensure proper documentation for reporting purposes. • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the general ledger. • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.

• Proven experience in accounts payable processes and financial operations. • Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries. • Proficiency in bank reconciliations and financial account balancing. • Familiarity with year-end closing procedures and reporting standards. • Ability to work with payroll systems and assist in process transitions. • Experience in tracking revenue and fundraising activities. • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation.
