Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This is a great opportunity to contribute your expertise to a nonprofit organization and work collaboratively with a dedicated finance team.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and accurately code accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.<br>• Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.<br>• Maintain detailed and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks Online.<br>• Collaborate with the finance manager to support daily accounting and financial functions.<br>• Assist in preparing documentation and providing support during audits.<br>• Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations and best practices.<br>• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records as they arise.<br>• Generate financial reports and summaries as requested by the finance team.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, particularly within a nonprofit environment is preferred.<br>• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.<br>• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.<br>• Ability to perform accurate bank and credit card reconciliations.<br>• Familiarity with audit processes and documentation requirements.<br>• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.<br>• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.<br>• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
