Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New Orleans, Louisiana. This role involves key responsibilities such as maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. You will play a vital role in monthly and year-end closings, financial reporting, and supporting audits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a dynamic position where their contributions are recognized and rewarded.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations, including areas such as cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll.<br>• Conduct monthly analysis of balance sheets and income statements for management reporting.<br>• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial close workbooks.<br>• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures while assisting in their implementation and maintenance.<br>• Manage capital lease schedules and monthly payment reconciliations.<br>• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset ledgers, including depreciation calculations.<br>• Perform intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliations.<br>• Analyze and report financial data in a clear and actionable format.<br>• Assist with ad-hoc reporting and contribute to special projects as needed.<br>• Collaborate on department-wide initiatives to improve processes and efficiency.
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.</p><p>• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on journal entries and reconciliations.</p><p>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.</p><p>• Experience in publicly traded companies or familiarity with NetSuite, Blackline, or similar systems is a plus.</p><p>• Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.</p><p>• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication abilities.</p><p>• Capability to meet critical business deadlines and work independently.</p><p>• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Robert Half puts you in the best position to succeed by advocating on your behalf and promoting you to employers. Apply with us today!</p>
