Financial Reporting Manager
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Financial Reporting Manager to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, lead budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This is a long-term contract position offering significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through process improvements and technical expertise.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately accounted for and reported.<br>• Provide technical guidance on Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure compliance with relevant standards.<br>• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and ad hoc financial reports prepared by the team.<br>• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting deliverables.<br>• Analyze financial statements and budget-to-actual variances, providing actionable insights.<br>• Implement and evaluate new disclosure requirements for annual financial reports, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.<br>• Coordinate audit deliverables and collaborate with auditors to meet year-end reporting deadlines.<br>• Lead the company’s budgeting and forecasting processes, introducing process improvements and enhancing efficiency.<br>• Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance on career development and ensuring adequate coverage for critical tasks.<br>• Drive process improvements by leveraging automation opportunities and expanding collaboration with international teams.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.<br>• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial compliance standards.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with advanced skills in financial analysis and reporting tools.<br>• Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, including mentoring and staff development.<br>• Experience coordinating audits and preparing detailed audit deliverables.<br>• Ability to identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities.<br>• Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership.<br>• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
