Staff Accountant
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position is essential to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, including month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to both routine accounting tasks and special projects that drive organizational growth.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare accurate journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals during month-end close processes.<br>• Analyze cash activity to ensure alignment between the general ledger and bank accounts.<br>• Develop monthly and quarterly variance explanations to support management review reports.<br>• Provide daily cash reporting and assist with treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and financial analysis.<br>• Coordinate and respond to audit requests from external and internal auditors.<br>• Participate in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, acquisition integration, and documentation of internal controls.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives and drive operational improvements.<br>• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.<br>• Manage intercompany transactions and contribute to the financial oversight of multi-entity organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred.<br>• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and formulas.<br>• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.<br>• Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and month-end close processes.<br>• Experience working with multi-entity organizations and intercompany transactions.<br>• Knowledge of treasury functions and financial reporting.<br>• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
