Payroll Clerk
<p>We are looking for a dedicated and detail-driven Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will contribute to payroll operations for a unionized workforce, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to build your expertise in payroll administration while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Enter employee job assignments from physical records into Excel spreadsheets with precision.</p><p>• Perform job coding and calculate hours worked based on varying pay rates for different assignments.</p><p>• Upload payroll files into Sage 100 software, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.</p><p>• Manage weekly payroll deadlines, completing all tasks promptly and efficiently.</p><p>• Utilize Excel for payroll calculations and data organization, with optional use of pivot tables.</p><p>• Assist in maintaining accurate records and resolving payroll discrepancies.</p><p>• Collaborate with team members to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.</p><p>• Support the payroll department in handling high-volume data entry tasks.</p>
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in payroll or related administrative roles.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of formulas and basic functions.<br>• Familiarity with Sage 100 software is highly desirable.<br>• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.<br>• Ability to work under strict deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.<br>• Experience processing payroll for 101-500 employees is preferred.<br>• Solid organizational and problem-solving skills.<br>• Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and address payroll inquiries.
