We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in Henrico, Virginia. In this role, you will oversee detailed financial analysis, ensure accurate reporting, and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency. You will collaborate with various teams to maintain compliance with accounting standards and support the organization’s financial goals.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Conduct regular reviews of profit and loss accounts to ensure postings align with established policies and procedures.<br>• Analyze variances between actual figures and forecasts, investigate discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments.<br>• Gather and report business reasons for unresolved variances to ensure transparency.<br>• Reconcile balance sheet accounts with sub-ledgers or schedules, identifying and resolving any inconsistencies.<br>• Periodically review accounts to identify risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them.<br>• Plan and execute book-closing activities and reporting tasks with precision and timeliness.<br>• Collaborate with relevant teams to develop accurate forecasts and budgets for applicable accounts.<br>• Partner with operations teams to enhance business and operational metrics.<br>• Stay informed on accounting regulations and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.<br>• A minimum of 5-6 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.<br>• Comprehensive knowledge of balance sheets, forecasting, and budgeting processes.<br>• Strong expertise in project-based cost accounting.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.<br>• Familiarity with accounting software systems and ERP solutions.<br>• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time.<br>• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
