Accounting Manager
<p>Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team onsite for a four-month engagement. This role is critical in supporting the organization through year-end close, an upcoming audit, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. If you thrive in a collaborative environment and have a passion for nonprofit financial stewardship, we’d love to hear from you.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support organizational decision-making.</li><li> Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain the integrity of financial data.</li><li>Collaborate on annual budget creation and monitoring; analyze variances to ensure alignment with organizational goals.</li><li>Oversee grant-related financial activities, including budget development, fund tracking, and compliance reporting for funders.</li><li>Manage AP/AR processes, ensuring timely payments, accurate revenue tracking, and efficient collections.</li><li>Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and assist with preparation of Form 990.</li><li>Partner with HR to process payroll and manage related reconciliations and journal entries.</li><li> Identify and implement enhancements to financial procedures, policies, and internal controls for greater efficiency and accuracy.</li></ul><p><br></p>
• Proven experience in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.<br>• Strong expertise in managing general ledger accounts and reconciling financial data.<br>• Familiarity with conducting financial statement audits and preparing compliance documentation.<br>• Proficiency in processing journal entries and maintaining accurate records.<br>• Skilled in using QuickBooks Online for financial management and reporting.<br>• Solid understanding of non-profit accounting standards and grant tracking processes.<br>• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information effectively.
