Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Dover, Delaware. In this role, you will lead financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. This position requires strong leadership and analytical skills to maintain the integrity of financial information and support organizational goals.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee daily accounting functions, including general ledger entries, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.<br>• Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.<br>• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP standards.<br>• Develop and implement robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.<br>• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes to align with organizational objectives.<br>• Monitor cash flow and track key financial metrics to provide actionable insights.<br>• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors.<br>• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations and requirements.<br>• Supervise and mentor the accounting team to foster attention to detail and efficiency.<br>• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.<br>• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.<br>• Strong proficiency in US GAAP and financial reporting standards.<br>• Demonstrated experience with audits and internal control systems.<br>• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and major ERP systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.<br>• Effective communication and leadership skills to guide teams and interact with stakeholders.
