IT Director
<p><strong>Role Overview:</strong></p><p>The IT Systems Manager is responsible for the effective management, security, and optimization of the organization's technology infrastructure. This role oversees disaster recovery strategies, ensures data protection and compliance, and manages critical systems, including virtualization platforms and backup and recovery technologies. Expertise in industry compliance frameworks such as NIST and SOC2 is required to maintain regulatory and operational standards.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage day-to-day operations of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud systems, ensuring reliability and performance.</li><li>Oversee the implementation and maintenance of backup and recovery technologies to protect essential business data.</li><li>Develop and test robust disaster recovery plans to ensure operational continuity in the event of disruptions.</li><li>Monitor and respond to security events proactively, mitigating risks and documenting resolution efforts as needed.</li><li>Manage and optimize virtualized systems for streamlined operations and scalability.</li><li>Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align IT systems and solutions with organizational goals and objectives.</li><li>Maintain strategic partnerships with vendors and manage contracts to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness of services.</li><li>Conduct audits, risk assessments, and evaluations to ensure compliance with industry standards like NIST and SOC2.</li><li>Lead and mentor IT teams, fostering a culture of learning and innovation to support organizational success.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong></p><ul><li>Broad knowledge of IT systems management, including centralized policy frameworks and identity management solutions.</li><li>Experience in managing hybrid environments, combining on-premises systems and cloud platforms.</li><li>Proficiency in utilizing automation tools or scripting to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.</li><li>Advanced understanding of networking principles, security protocols, and authentication systems.</li><li>Familiarity with virtualization platforms and enterprise-level system configurations.</li><li>Expertise with backup and recovery technologies to ensure seamless restoration and data protection.</li><li>Solid understanding of industry compliance frameworks such as NIST and SOC2 to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.</li></ul><p><strong>Leadership and Operational Management:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to oversee IT operations in multi-site or enterprise environments, ensuring consistent functionality and reliability.</li><li>Skilled in developing internal policies to optimize operational practices while adhering to compliance standards.</li><li>Experience managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and monitoring service agreements.</li><li>Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale IT projects within specified timelines and budgets.</li></ul><p><strong>Security and Compliance:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong background in cybersecurity practices, with expertise in safeguarding sensitive data.</li><li>Understanding of regulatory compliance standards such as NIST and SOC2, with experience in conducting audits and assessments.</li><li>Capability to identify and resolve vulnerabilities while establishing proactive security measures.</li></ul><p><strong>Communication and Team Building:</strong></p><ul><li>Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop technical staff to enhance team performance and grow skillsets.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to present and explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.</li><li>Collaborative mindset to work effectively across all levels of the organization to meet strategic and operational goals.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.</li><li>A minimum of seven years of experience in IT roles with at least two years of leadership experience.</li><li>Relevant certifications such as those specializing in cloud, security, or virtualization technologies.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with endpoint management solutions and automation workflows.</li><li>Familiarity with enterprise wireless infrastructures and secure authentication practices.</li><li>Ability to support a mix of remote and in-office work environments effectively.</li><li>Virtualization experience with tools like VMware. Experience with the Veeam data platform is essential to this role.</li></ul>
