Document Controller
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Document Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will ensure that all mortgage-related documentation is accurately managed, reviewed, and maintained in compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your administrative expertise in a fast-paced and collaborative environment while contributing to the efficiency of mortgage operations.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review and validate mortgage loan documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies.<br>• Organize and maintain both electronic and physical records for easy access and audit readiness.<br>• Conduct detailed audits of mortgage files to confirm compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.<br>• Prepare and compile document packages for underwriting, loan processing, and final approval stages.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams, including loan officers and underwriters, to address missing or incorrect documentation.<br>• Stay informed about current mortgage industry regulations and ensure all files meet those standards.<br>• Utilize document management systems and loan origination software to upload and manage all required files.<br>• Ensure the timely scanning and electronic filing of all necessary documents.<br>• Support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records to facilitate regulatory and internal audits.
<p><strong>• At least 2 years of experience in mortgage document control</strong>, loan processing, or a similar administrative role in the mortgage or banking sector.</p><p>• Proficiency with document management systems and loan origination software.</p><p>• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.</p><p>• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities to ensure compliance and accuracy.</p><p>• Solid understanding of relevant mortgage industry regulations and guidelines.</p><p>• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.</p><p>• Capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</p><p>• Flexibility and adaptability to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.<u></u></p>
