We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Located in College Park, Maryland, the position involves analyzing and reconciling financial data while supporting operational excellence. Responsibilities: • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy across ledgers and transactions. • Investigate and provide detailed explanations of ledger balances and variances. • Assist the Controller’s office by validating financial data and maintaining its integrity. • Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, to support financial analysis. • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices. • Leverage knowledge of Workday Financials, fund accounting, or state financial systems to optimize processes. • Prepare and record journal entries to maintain the general ledger. • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure smooth financial operations.

• Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of advanced formulas and data analysis tools. • Ability to research and analyze financial variances with precision. • Familiarity with Workday Financials, fund accounting, or state financial systems is a plus. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. • Advanced problem-solving capabilities and analytical mindset. • Experience preparing journal entries and reconciling bank accounts. • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
