Transaction Attorney- Real Estate
We are looking for an experienced Transaction Attorney specializing in commercial real estate to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and manage high-volume real estate transactions across acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in structuring deals, negotiating agreements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. <br> Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing activities. • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as purchase agreements, joint-venture contracts, loan agreements, leases, and closing documentation. • Conduct title and survey reviews, coordinate due diligence processes, and ensure smooth and timely transaction closings. • Advise on leasing matters across various property types, including retail, industrial, office, and ground leases, while addressing tenant concerns and compliance requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including acquisitions, asset management, and property management, to identify risks and optimize transaction outcomes. • Develop and implement standardized templates, playbooks, and policies to enhance efficiency in transactional processes. • Provide legal guidance on complex financing structures, debt agreements, and related ancillary contracts. • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, case law, and regulatory updates that impact commercial real estate. • Support entity formation, joint ventures, and real estate fund initiatives as needed. • Manage multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and critical thinking skills. <br> <br> The pay range for this position is 50 to 75. • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active licensure in at least one state, with eligibility to waive into Illinois.<br>• Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, ideally within a private equity, real estate investment, or law firm setting.<br>• Proven ability to independently structure, negotiate, and close deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.<br>• Strong expertise in title and survey reviews, due diligence processes, and complex transaction logistics.<br>• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, coupled with sound business judgment.<br>• Familiarity with joint ventures, entity formation, and real estate funds is highly desirable.<br>• Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a high-volume, dynamic environment.<br>• Organized and responsive, with a pragmatic approach to resolving complex issues.
