Payroll Specialist
We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Payroll Specialist to join our team in Carleton, Michigan. This is a long-term contract position that requires processing payroll for a varying number of employees, ranging from 70 to 190, including hourly, salaried, and multi-state staff. The role is ideal for candidates with prior payroll experience who excel in maintaining accuracy and meeting strict deadlines.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process biweekly payroll for employees, including hourly, salaried, and multi-state staff.<br>• Collect, review, and verify timesheets and payroll data to ensure accuracy.<br>• Enter payroll information promptly and efficiently while addressing any necessary adjustments or deductions.<br>• Maintain detailed payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.<br>• Audit payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before submission.<br>• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide effective solutions.<br>• Utilize intermediate Excel skills, such as pivot tables, to organize and analyze payroll data.<br>• Collaborate with HR and management to manage new hires, terminations, and employee updates.<br>• Ensure payroll processes align with company standards and deadlines.<br>• Generate reports and support payroll-related audits as needed.
• Proven experience in full-cycle payroll processing, including multi-state payroll.<br>• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, for data analysis and reconciliation.<br>• High level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.<br>• Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet submission deadlines.<br>• Solid communication skills for effectively addressing payroll inquiries and collaborating with team members.<br>• Familiarity with payroll compliance and regulatory requirements.<br>• Ability to work independently while ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
