We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role involves managing financial operations for a nonprofit organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing reporting processes. Responsibilities: • Direct month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. • Prepare and manage monthly financial reports tailored to nonprofit lending requirements. • Oversee year-end reporting, including audits, tax preparation, and compliance with nonprofit certifications. • Coordinate audits such as the 403(b) audit and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. • Utilize Blackbaud Financial Edge software to maintain and analyze financial records. • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure grant accounting and funding compliance. • Provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational goals and initiatives. • Monitor financial operations related to business lending activities within the nonprofit sector. • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure transparency. • Ensure compliance with nonprofit-specific regulatory and financial requirements.

• Proven experience in nonprofit accounting and grant management. • Familiarity with financial operations in a lending environment, preferably within nonprofit organizations. • Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar accounting software. • Strong knowledge of nonprofit reporting standards and tax preparation processes. • Demonstrated ability to manage audits and certifications specific to nonprofit organizations. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders. • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines.
